Sustainability
If you’re looking for a wholesale coffee supplier in the South West with a passion for delivering sustainably sound coffee which tastes great, we are the partner for you.
Our strategy for sustainability
Our strategy is driven by working with farms that give back as much to the land and people as it receives, together with seeking independence from non-renewable resources and using renewable resources when possible. Procaffè is always very mindful of its social and environmental responsibilities, and for us, eco-sustainable and fairtrade products are a must throughout the supply chain.
The SUNDAY Collab ‘Greenroom’ and Bristot’s Tiziano and Rainforest Alliance blends are grown on Rainforest Alliance Certified farms and plantations who undertake to comply with current standards for the conservation of natural resources and respect of workers’ rights. Rainforest Alliance certification is built on ten guiding principles, one of which is water conservation. This principle encompasses more than just the reduction of water consumption; farmers must also monitor water quality, treat wastewater and avoid contaminating springs and rivers on and near their properties.
How our goals are achieved
The Sustainable Agricultural Network (SAN) promotes productive and efficient agricultural systems, biodiversity conservation and sustainable human development. Procaffè have adopted these sustainable agricultural practices both socially and environmentally within our production processes, earning us certification through the Sustainable Agricultural Network standard.
To accomplish this, we work in partnership with our farmers to ensure they implement best practices, and have developed our standards internally in line with the SAN certification system.
SAN partners provide Procaffè with support for farmers through training, field demonstrations and advice on techniques appropriate for the crop, specific environment and local culture.
